Brain Cancer Australia at the 2024 ABC Andrew Olle Media Lecture
Brain Cancer Australia had the great privilege of being the 2024 charity partner of ABC Andrew Olle Media Lecture, an event that holds special significance in our fight against brain cancer.
Since 2022, Brain Cancer Australia has proudly partnered with the ABC and the Olle family to honor the legacy of esteemed journalist Andrew Olle, who sadly passed away from brain cancer in 1995. Together, we raise awareness and vital funds for research that will help us change the outcomes for those affected by this disease.
During the evening, our Founding Director, Robyn Leonard OAM, and our Chair, Professor Michael Besser AM, took to that stage to talk about our mission to give everyone who can defeat brain cancer what they need to do it.
We extend our gratitude to the ABC and the Olle family for their continued support and partnership. A special thank you goes to Servier Australia, our table sponsor, and to all our guests and supporters who joined us to make the night an incredible success.
This year’s inspiring lecture, delivered by Fran Kelly, reflected on Andrew Olle’s values of kindness, curiosity, and integrity—qualities that unite us in a world often divided. Her words are a powerful reminder of the shared purpose that drives our mission at Brain Cancer Australia.
Our thanks to our guests: Guy Tancock, Gaven Morris, Helen Liondos, Jayde Ward, Prof. John Simes, Laura Henry, Prof. Lindy Jeffree, Lisa Cotton, Maggie O'Neill, Prof. Michael Besser, Michael Leonard, Molly Osborne, Nicola Ware, Shamal Dass, Sharon Bell, Sophie Hull, and Tim James.
